Cyrill Camenzind
CEO/ Studio Manager & Producer
Cyrill Camenzind is a versatile guitarist, producer, and musical director with over 15 years of experience in the music industry. His passion for music was shaped by his time in Nashville, USA, where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business. These experiences helped him build a vast national and international network of top session musicians and mixing engineers, which he integrates seamlessly into his work today.
Since taking over as studio manager of Powerplay Studios in 2014, Cyrill has revitalized this historic space. He founded his own label, Lucky Tiger Records, enabling in-house productions and fostering creative freedom for artists. His connections within the Swiss music scene and partnerships with key institutions like the Zurich University of the Arts, SUISA, and both private and public TV networks have further strengthened the studio’s reputation.
Cyrill has worked with renowned artists such as James Morrison, Gregor Meyle, Alain Clark, Seven, Marc Broussard, Reto Burrell, and many others. As a musical director and producer, he has led high-profile TV productions like “Die grössten Schweizer Talente”, “Eurovision”, and “Sing meinen Song” , as well as live events like Art on Ice.

Reto is the technical mastermind of Powerplay Studios and has been an integral part of the team for over 20 years—he’s practically part of the studio’s legacy. With unmatched expertise in the art of recording, he knows every trick and nuance of the craft. His extensive experience, both at live events and in the studio, has made him a go-to engineer for countless renowned artists.
Over the years, Reto has worked with an impressive lineup of talent, including Betty Legler, Big Zis, Bligg, Coolio, Domenico Ferrari, Domi Chansorn, Frank Ocean, Gotthard, Joshua Panda, Kalabrese, Prince, Reto Burrell, Skor, Udo Jürgens, Waldorf, Wu-Tang Clan, Yello, and many more. His dedication and technical expertise continue to make him an invaluable part of Powerplay Studios.

Anna began playing the piano as a child, quickly developing a fascination with and interest in various instruments. Along the way, she discovered her passion for singing, honing her skills as a vocalist. She pursued her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where she deepened her understanding of music and sound. Over time, Anna also delved into the world of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) and gained hands-on experience in music production. Now a prospective sound engineering student, she considers it an honor to work and learn in such a renowned and knowledgeable environment.

Romario, a multifaceted musician with a profound foundation as a bass player, honed his craft at the prestigious WIAM (Winterthurer Institut für Aktuelle Musik). His melodious journey started in his childhood on the piano, gradually embarking to discover the guitar and drums. He has been a vibrant force in several bands, including Elijah Salomon, Marblewood, Ida Jane, Utopia In Space, Didi, Grisli, Izzie & The Vagaband, Awesome Arnold, Bruit Coloré, amongst many others. Presently, Romario contributes his expertise as an assistant at Powerplay Studios, embracing the intricate dance between musicianship and technical finesse, a role that complements his dynamic involvement in the music scene. His ultimate passion lies in the creative process, striving to illuminate each piece's inherent beauty – his musical ethos is driven by a desire to create timeless compositions that transcend fleeting trends, focusing on the essence of the music.
Miro Wolf

Miro joined the team in the summer of 2021. Growing up, he played the violin and saxophone, eventually exploring the world of sound experimentation and recording. Over time, he discovered that his true passion lies in recording music and helping musicians achieve their best possible sound. Miro considers it a privilege to learn and grow in the unique environment of Powerplay Studios, surrounded by creative and talented individuals.
Massimo Buonanno
Massimo is an acclaimed drummer and producer, known for his work as both a live and studio musician with renowned national and international artists. His impressive list of collaborators includes Seven, Gregor Meyle, John Mayer, Xavier Naidoo, Marc Broussard, Laith Al Deen, Johannes Oerding, Alain Clark, Lunik, and many more. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, Massimo brings a wealth of expertise to every project. He plays a key role in the acclaimed TV production Sing meinen Song alongside Cyrill Camenzind. Together, they founded Lucky Tiger Records, an in-house production company dedicated to crafting exceptional musical projects.

The former electrician and guitarist joined our Powerplay Studios team in June 2017. Despite his young age, he’s worked on numerous projects as a recording and mixing engineer. Nico is currently completing the audio technology course at FFTON in Zurich. His love for analog recording and calmness under pressure makes him a perfect addition to our team.

With over 30 years of experience, Ursli is a seasoned expert in the Swiss recording industry and a true aficionado of the analog world. Whether it’s working with tape machines or vintage gear, Urs Lee knows these tools inside out. As a mastering engineer, he ensures every recording gets the perfect polish and shine, delivering maximum quality across all playback systems. Ursli, also known as Urs Lee, has collaborated with renowned artists such as Lee Scratch Perry, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Tonic Strings, Brink Man Ship, Subzonic, Pola, Kutti MC, Pete Penicka, Boys on Pills, Toni Vescoli, Phebus, Reto Burrell, Coal, Kandlbauer, and many more. He’s also been a longtime collaborator with the legendary cult band Yello.
